DB Construction was contracted by Vincent Stokes Ltd to construct additional car parking at the Hartham Leisure Centre in Hertford. A green space to the rear of the centre was transformed to provide an additional 41 car parking spaces.

Works within our contract involved excavation of the waste ground with all spoil being placed on an existing berm and reshaped. Street lighting duct was installed along the perimeter of the car park and new PCC kerb lines were installed with a timber edging used along the back of the parking bays to protect the existing tree roots.

Bodpave 40 paving cells were laid on a free draining sub base and gravel filled, a porous asphalt application finished the main carriageway. Street lighting columns were then installed along with a Knee Rail fence to give an impressive finish to this complete SUDS compliant car park.

Liaising regular with the Leisure Centre manager ensured this project was completed with minimal disruption, on time and within budget.
